
The Minnesota Wild defeated the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night, completing a sweep of their two-game series with a 5-2 victory.
The Sharks struck first with Brent Burns’ sixth goal of the season but the Wild stormed back with five unanswered goals beginning with a power-play marker from Mats Zuccarello.

Zuccarello deflected his shot off the skate of Burns for his 10th goal of the season and the Wild found more luck when Joel Eriksson Ek scored his 14th goal of the season to put Minnesota ahead 2-1.

With Zach Parise adding his seventh goal of the season, the Wild took a 3-1 lead into the first intermission. The scoring didn’t stop in the second period as Kirill Kaprizov sent a rocket past Martin Jones for his 17th goal of the season.

Nico Sturm scored his sixth goal of the season to give Minnesota a 5-1 lead. The Sharks got a goal back when Joel Kellman scored his first goal of the season in the third period but Kaapo Kahkonen made 26 saves to preserve the win.
The Wild are now 27-13-3 on the season and will start a two-game series with the Arizona Coyotes on Monday night.
