Future Hall of Game goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury will be in St. Paul another year.
The Wild announced on Wednesday they’ve re-signed Fleury to a one-year, $2.5 million deal. Fleury had been noncommittal on his future throughout the season, but always left a door open to a return. Now he’ll officially be back for another year.
Fleury is one of the greatest goalies to ever do it and holds the second-most wins of any goaltender all-time with 561. He’s played in 1,024 career games with a career .912 save percentage and a 2.60 goals-against average. He has a record of 561-329-96.
Fleury has a 17-14-5 record this season with a .895 save percentage and a 2.98 goals-against average. He has two shutouts on the season, and 75 for his career.
Fleury has won three Stanley Cups in his illustrious career since he was selected No. 1 overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2003 draft.
The Wild close their season on Thursday when they host the Seattle Kraken for a 6 p.m. puck drop at Xcel Energy Center. The game will be televised on ESPN.
