The Minnesota Wild’s Canadian road trip continues tonight with a stop in Edmonton, where the Wild looks to extend the Oilers’ five-game losing streak.
The Wild, coming off a 4-3 must-win (or the closest thing to it) over Calgary last night, jumped up a bit in the Western Conference standings — from seventh to sixth — with six games remaining.
Tonight, Niklas Backstrom is back in goals, according to the Star Tribune, which also reports that Mikhael Granlund has been sent back to Houston to get more playing time.
Earlier today, the Wild announced that goalie Josh Harding was also on his way to Houston for conditioning assignment. He’s been on the shelf since Feb. 12, adjusting to his medication for multiple sclerosis.
