The Minnesota Wild has been in discussions with the St. Paul mayor’s office about the possibility of building a practice arena in a 290-spot parking lot located next to the Xcel Energy Center. The city had plans for the space in 2008 that fell through in the down economy and says they want to make sure whatever goes into the space would be profitable enough to cover debt payments.
