The Minnesota Wild continued their west coast road trip on Saturday night and although they opened with a shaky first period, they were able to rebound and pick up a 4-3 win over the Arizona Coyotes.
Much like their effort against the Sharks on Thursday night, the Wild were slow to come out of the gate on Saturday. The Coyotes were able to capitalize on another lethargic opening frame as Michael Graber scored his fifth goal of the season at 8:50 of the first period to give Arizona an early lead.
The Coyotes tacked onto their advantage later in the first when Jakob Chychrun scored his fourth goal of the year at 12:40.
Although the Wild found themselves in a two-goal deficit heading into the second period, they would respond beginning with Mikko Koivu’s 60th career power-play goal, a Wild franchise record, from Ryan Suter and Jared Spurgeon at 3:19.
That marker set the tone even after Vinnie Hinostroza scored his second goal of the year at 8:20 as Kevin Fiala and Matt Dumba each put the puck in the net to tie the game up at 3-3 heading into the third period.

In the final frame, the Wild struck first when Ryan Hartman scored his second goal at 4:54 to give Minnesota its first lead of the night.

With the Wild taking control, Devan Dubnyk recovered from his shaky start to preserve the lead, making 28 saves and holding off a late, empty-net charge to earn the 4-3 victory.
With the win, the Wild improved to 6-10-1 on the season and will continue their west coast road trip on Tuesday when they battle the Los Angeles Kings.
