Vanek finding groove again
After being benched in last week’s game against St. Louis, Thomas Vanek has been finding his way onto the stat sheet, nabbing four points in the last three games. The forward scored unassisted at 11:13 in the second period to tie the game for the Wild.
Wild are outshooting opponents–to no avail
Minnesota outshot the Bruins 33-19, and have outshot their last 4 opponents, according to NHL.com, but have gone 0-3-1 during that series of games. The Wild have also made more scoring attempts than their opponents during that period, but neither stat appears to have translated to the win column.
Mike Reilly scores first NHL goal
Chanhassen, MN native and former Gopher Mike Reilly scored his first NHL goal on an assist from Mikael Granlund and Jason Zucker. Reilly made his NHL Debut against the Dallas Stars on January 9th.
