The Wild beat the Kings 3-1 Thursday night in Los Angeles, but it was a night in which the result mattered the least in California.
Less than 24 hours after 12 innocent people were killed in a mass shooting at a bar in nearby Thousand Oaks, the Kings dimmed the lights inside the arena and held a moment of silence for the victims.
“Enough is enough,” said Kings public address announcer David Joseph, echoing the message written on cards that players and coaches held during the ceremony.
“Acts of this nature cannot be accepted in this world,” Joseph continued. “Each human life is precious, and no one should have it taken away by the choice of another. Enough is enough.”

The shooter, a 28-year-old former U.S. Marine, turn his gun on himself before police were able to apprehend him in the latest mass shooting on American soil.
Minnesota won the game 3-1, with Nino Neiderreiter tallying his first goal of the season and Zach Parise notching a goal for his 700th career point in the NHL.
