National Hockey League All-Stars were announced Wednesday and goaltender Devan Dubnyk was the only member of the Minnesota Wild named.
The new All-Star Game format will feature a three-game tournament of 3-on-3 hockey. The 3-on-3 teams will be made up of players from the same divisions.
While Dubnyk made it for the Wild, the likes of Zach Parise, Thomas Vanek, Mikko Koivu and Ryan Suter did not make the cut. Instead, the Central Division team roster includes:
Dubnyk and Nashville’s Pekke Rinne were the goalies named to the Central Division roster, even though Chicago’s Corey Crawford has, at least statistically, been a little bit better than Dubnyk.
- Dubnyk: 17-11-3 record, 2.28 goals against, 92.1 save percentage, 4 shutouts
- Crawford: 21-10-2 record, 2.22 goals against, 92.5 save percentage, 6 shutouts
This year’s All-Star weekend is Jan. 30-31 in Nashville.
