Devan Dubnyk was without a doubt the saving grace for the Minnesota Wild last season, and they’re going to need him healthy this season if they hope to continue competing with the best of the best in the NHL’s Western Conference.
Dubnyk, following Saturday’s home victory over Anaheim, told reporters that he heard his knee “pop” during the game, but all is apparently well with the 29-year-old netminder. The Star Tribune reports that Dubnyk underwent an MRI Monday and “all’s good,” Dubnyk said.
He said he was very sore on Sunday but he anticipates he’ll be pain-free by Wednesday, aside from the normal wear and tear of Tuesday’s game in which he stopped 20 of 23 shots in a 4-3 win over Edmonton.
Darcy Kuemper started Sunday’s second game in two days against Winnipeg and was replaced by Dubnyk after allowing a barrage of goals in the first 30 minutes of the game.
Dubnyk is now 33-11-2 in 46 career games with the Wild.
