A third straight mid-season slump has the Minnesota Wild on the outside looking in at the playoff race, but general manager Chuck Fletcher remains confident in his coaching staff.
On Saturday, when asked if head coach Mike Yeo’s job is safe Fletcher, via Wild.com, responded, “Yeah.”
Fletcher added: “Look, we’re going to turn this around, that’s where our focus is right now. This group, the coaches and players have won a lot of games, they know what it takes, and I’m looking to our leadership group right now to step up and I’m looking for the players to play the right way and I’m confident that we’ll get there.”
The Wild have won just three games since the calendar flipped to 2016, and they’re currently riding a streak in which they’ve lost 9 of the last 10 games entering Saturday’s road test against the St. Louis Blues.
