The Twins and Red Sox went down the wire for a second consecutive game Friday night, trading rallies in a dramatic ninth inning that sent the game to an even more dramatic finish.
Trailing 2-1 in the ninth, Eddie Rosario gave the Twins the lead with a two-run double, which was spoiled in the bottom of the ninth when Rafael Devers tied the game with a solo homer off of Fernando Rodney.
Then, in the bottom of the 10th the Red Sox won it on a walk-off solo shot by MVP candidate Mookie Betts.
Twins trade Ryan Pressly
Just hours after dealing infielder Eduardo Escobar to the Diamondbacks, the Twins traded right-handed reliever Ryan Pressly to the Houston Astros.
In return, Houston sent right-handed pitcher Jorge Alcala (Double-A) and center fielder Gilberto Celestino (Class A).
Pressly was 1-1 with a 3.40 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 47 2/3 innings out of Minnesota’s bullpen.
