The Wild’s losing ways continued Saturday night as they were dumped by the Blues 4-1 in St. Louis, putting the finishing touches on a winless road trip. When the Wild wake up Sunday morning they’ll see themselves 3 points out of the final Wild Card in the Western Conference playoff race.
1. Losing won’t stop
Minnesota has just three victories since the calendar flipped to 2016, and the Wild have dropped 10 of the last 11 games overall. Despite that, the attitude in the locker room after the game was generally positive.
“It’s been a while since we showed that much fight. As long as we keep fighting, we’ll find our way out of this,” said veteran winger Jason Pominville.
2. Penalty killer
The Blues scored a pair of power play goals in the second period and added a third in the third period. Minnesota’s penalty kill percentage (79.8 percent) was ranked 21st in the league entering the game.

3. Injuries mounting on the blue line
Ryan Suter, Jonas Brodin and Jared Spurgeon are arguably the Wild’s three best defensemen, but Suter is the only healthy one after Brodin was injured earlier this week and Spurgeon in this game.
Mike Yeo doesn't know how hurt Jared Spurgeon is, but said, "When he leaves a game, it's not something small."
