The Minnesota Wild earned a point in a shootout loss to the Blues, 3-2 Sunday night at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
St. Louis jumped out to a 2-0 lead after first-period goals by T.J. Oshie and Carlo Colaiacovo. Minnesota’s defense and goaltending then went on lockdown the rest of the game. Goals by Jason Pominville and Matt Moulson in the second period tied the score, 2-2.
After a scoreless third period and overtime, the Blues snuck by the Wild in the shootout. Oshie, who became a hockey hero with an incredible performance in a shootout against Russia at the Olympics, scored on his shootout attempt to give the Blues an advantage. Alexander Steen’s shootout score sealed the victory.
