As the Wild begin game three in their playoff series against the Chicago Blackhawks, coach Mike Yeo wants his team to hate their opponent.
NBC Sports said Yeo thinks his team has to play with intensity to battle back from the 2-0 series lead Chicago holds Minnesota. In the third game, the Wild return to home ice at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
“I really believe that to be successful, there has to be a level of hatred for the team that you’re playing against,” Yeo said. “It shouldn’t be hard for us. They’re trying to take away something from us.”
Minnesota called up Mikael Granlund, Stephane Veilleux, and Jake Dowell in anticipation of the matchup.
