Darryl Sydor was back with the Minnesota Wild at practice Tuesday following his August DWI arrest.
The assistant coach was charged with two counts of DWI in August – he pleaded guilty in October and received a mandatory 15-day jail sentence (though time served shortened that). At the time, the Wild said his return to the team would “be addressed at a later date.”
After practice Tuesday, head coach Mike Yeo said it seemed like a “good opportunity” to work Sydor back in, according to a tweet from the team, adding he’s confident the 43-year-old “is in the right place.”
Yeo on Sydor: "We're confident he's ready for this given the steps he's taken…we need him. His well being has to come first." #mnwild

Chad Graff with the Pioneer Press tweeted Sydor will resume coaching duties, but not in full.

Three days after his arrest, Sydor voluntarily checked himself into an alcohol treatment program.
The Star Tribune’s Michal Russo wrote Sydor spent time at a California treatment facility earlier this fall.
Sydor spoke with the media Tuesday:
Sydor: I'm thankful for all the support from the #mnwild, the support of my family & friends. I'm mostly thankful for a chance at recovery.
