The Minnesota Wild defeated the Dallas Stars 3-2 in overtime on Saturday night at the Xcel Energy Center.
The win capped Hockey Day in Minnesota, with a victory and was Minnesota’s seventh win in nine games, according to the Star Tribune.
Nate Prosser‘s wrist shot beat Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen at the 2:42 mark of overtime, to put the game away. Prosser was assisted by Nino Niederreiter and Charlie Coyle.
Minnesota took the early lead as Erik Haula lit the lamp to put the Wild on top. Ryan Garbutt pulled the Stars back to even at one.
Ryan Suter put the Wild back on top with his sixth goal of the season. He was assisted by Torrey Mitchell and Jonas Brodin.
The Wild led 2-1 heading into the third period, but Dallas stormed back to even the game at two on a goal from Alex Chiasson.
It stayed that way until overtime when Prosser’s goal put a cap on the day.
Yeo on Prosser: "If there’s any undecided votes on the next mayor of Elk River, I think we cleared that up." #mnwild
