Don’t look now but the Wild are streaking as they blanked the Oilers 3-0 for their second straight victory Tuesday night in St. Paul.
Tuesday’s script was much different than the past eight games with Minnesota jumping out to an early lead and not letting a snowball period doom their chances to win.
The Wild got off to a hot start with three goals in the first twelve minutes, with Eric Staal scoring twice and Brad Hunt blasting a puck into the back of the net on the power play.

However, there was a scary play in the second period when Devan Dubnyk had to leave the game after a nasty collision in front of the net. Alex Stalock relieved his teammate, finished the shutout with 17 saves.

Forward Jordan Greenway also was injured in the second period and did not return.

No word just yet on the severity of either player’s injury, with more information possible when after the Wild practice on Wednesday. Minnesota is already without Joel Eriksson Ek, Victor Rask and Kevin Fiala, all of whom are dinged up.
With the victory, the Wild improve to 3-6-0 and will play the Nashville Predators on Thursday, Oct. 24.
