The Wild are singing anything but the blues after beating St. Louis 6-3 Saturday at home, their second win against the Blues in a week.
Six different Wild players scored goals, with most of the action coming in the second period.
Chris Stewart and Thomas Vanek had the first two goals of the game in the first period. Zach Parise and Jonas Brodin scored in the second period just 26 seconds apart, NHL.com reports.
St. Louis took advantage of a power play, scoring its first goal 10:02 into the second. Their second goal came less than two minutes later. The Wild fired off another goal at 16:11 with Justin Fontaine scoring with the assists from Charlie Coyle and Ryan Suter.
Mikko Koivu hit the sixth Wild goal on a power play in the third period with assists from Jason Pominville and Matt Dumba.
The Blues scored one more goal in the third, but they couldn’t rally to make up the deficit.
Goalie Devan Dubnyk had 26 saves.
The Wild head off on a two-game road trip to play the Toronto Maple Leafs Monday and the New York Islanders Tuesday. The Star Tribune reports the Wild have won their last eight road games in a row and have gone 12-1-2 on the road with Dubnyk in goal.
