The Minnesota Wild recalled goaltender Darcy Kuemper and forward Jake Dowell from its American Hockey League affiliate in Houston on Sunday.
To make room on the roster, forward Jason Zucker and goalie Matt Hackett were assigned to Houston.
Michael Russo of the Star Tribune says the move to swap Hackett for Kuemper makes sense because Hackett hasn’t played recently and the Wild will need two goalies this week.
The Wild plays at Dallas Monday night. Minnesota, which started the season 4-5-1, leads the Northwest Division at 18-10-2.
