Milwaukee Bucks 108
Minnesota Timberwolves 112
The Minnesota Timberwolves picked up their second victory of the preseason Friday night, holding off Milwaukee 112-108 at Target Center.
1. Future looks bright with Wiggins and Towns
One of the bright spots for the Wolves was the play of Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns. The young duo combined for 42 points, 18 rebounds and five assists.
Wiggins had 24, while Towns finished with a double-double, 18 points and 11 boards.
2. Wolves from long range
The Timberwolves were dead last in the NBA in three-point shooting last season, but you wouldn’t have known it by watching Friday night’s game.
Minnesota shot 50 percent from behind the arc as they were 9-of-18.
3. Jones-Vaughn reunion
Friday night was supposed to be a reunion for former high school rivals and AAU teammates Tyus Jones and Rashad Vaughn. Both rookies were drafted in the first round.
But it didn’t really live up to the hype. Vaughn was just 1-of-5 from the floor in 21 minutes, while Jones didn’t even see the floor until the final 20-seconds of the game.
