Timberwolves’ rookie Andrew Wiggins had a huge night, scoring a career-high 31 points to help Minnesota defeat the Denver Nuggets 113-105 Saturday night in Denver.
Wiggins shot 11 of 17 from the floor and had four 3-pointers, as well as nine rebounds and four assists, the Associated Press reports.

Robbie Hummel had two big baskets in the fourth quarter. He scored 15 points and had 13 rebounds in the game. Thaddeus Young added 22 points.
Before the game, coach Flip Saunders said he was pushing other players to step up and score more, to take the burden off Wiggins.
“He has to score so much in order for us to compete and he exerts so much energy doing that,” Saunders said, according to the Star Tribune. “That hurts him defensively. He has to rest sometime.”
Minnesota plays at Charlotte on Monday.
