When is the last time three players on the Timberwolves were considered top 100 players in the NBA?
You’d need a metal detector to find a time that was the case because it’s been so long that those players probably have metal plates in their hips and knees. That’s a bit of a stretch, but, honestly… one would have to harken back to the days of Kevin Garnett, Sam Cassel and Latrell Sprewell in 2003-04.
ESPN’s 2015 player rankings, in which every player in the NBA is ranked, is certainly putting the Wolves back in a respectable – or at least a hopeful – place.
The countdown has yet to reveal where Andrew Wiggins, Ricky Rubio and Karl-Anthony Towns are slotted in the rankings, but they’re definitely rated in the top 85. As of 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Boston’s Marcus Smart was the latest player ranked at 85.
But other than Minnesota’s trio of unranked players, the rest fell outside of the top 100. From ESPN.
