Andrew Wiggins of the Minnesota Timberwolves has turned down an opportunity to play in Olympic Qualifying Tournament with the Canadians Men’s National team in July.
Wiggins told Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune that he wants his focus to be on the Wolves upcoming season. With a new coach at the helm and growing expectations for the young Wolves team, the former Rookie of the Year is aware of the task at hand.
Granted if Canada indeed makes it past the qualifying round, Wiggins could still play in the Olympic Games according to ESPN.
With free agency around the corner and prominent names being linked to the Timberwolves plus a top 5 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, this upcoming off season should be entertaining for the Timberwolves.
