The Vikings have until 3 p.m. CT today to make a trade for a quarterback. Will they go the seismic route and mortgage the future for Kyler Murray or another QB? Based on the reporting from insiders around the NFL, that’s highly unlikely and the most likely outcome is Minnesota sticking with their current twosome of Jaren Hall and Nick Mullens, who is on IR for one more week before he’s eligible to return.
Let’s go around the league to see what the insiders are saying…
Adam Schefter, ESPN
Schefter, during the Monday night game between the Lions and Raiders, said he doesn’t think the Vikings will make a move for a quarterback before the 3 p.m. CT deadline. He also said the Vikings are unlikely to trade edge rusher Danielle Hunter.
Adam Schefter says on MNF that he doesn't expect the Vikings to make a move at quarterback, not seeing any QB out there as an upgrade on who they have in the building. Also said they won't be inclined to move Danielle Hunter

Dianna Russini, The Athletic
No significant conversations about a trade but discussions about “other scenarios” were ongoing.
The Minnesota Vikings have been working through different scenarios all day for life post-Kirk Cousins this season.
I’m told there has not been any significant conversations about a possible trade for a QB on another team.
They continue to discuss different scenarios.

Ben Goessling, Star Tribune
If the Vikings add QB depth in free agency, the name that most commonly pops up is Colt McCoy, who worked out for the Vikings earlier this year.
An immediate name to keep an eye on for the #Vikings is Colt McCoy, who’d spent three years with Kevin O’Connell in Washington. McCoy visited the Vikings earlier this month, and could be a fit now to join the team’s QB room.

Benjamin Allbright, KOA Denver
More of the same from Allbright, who covers the Broncos but is a familiar name in national rumors.
From everyone i've talked to, I don't think the Vikings are currently actively engaged in any trade discussions for a quarterback.
My sense is they will go the free agent route.

Ryan Clark, ESPN
Clark praised Cousins and said it’s going to be “extremely difficult” for the Vikings to replace him as a leader and a player.
Ryan Clark says #Vikings Kirk Cousins was the best quarterback in the NFL before he tore his Achilles. 🤯🤯🤯
Clark also added that Jaren Hall won’t be able to fill Kirk’s spot as QB1.
