Well, it’s only day two of what we hope to be a regular feature at BringMeTheNews, which is based on the concept that there’s so much sports news out there and, well, some of it is pretty wacky. Or just plain weird.

Today, we bring you to the heart of NFC North country, Mayville, Wisc., a bit northwest of Milwaukee. There a husband and wife made a bet over Monday night’s Bears-Packers game, which the Bears won.
According to the Beaver Dam Daily News, the husband, John Grant, a Bears fan, tasered his wife Nicole, a Packers fan, three times after the game. Per the bet.
You read that right. This was pre-arranged.
The Fon du Lac Reporter picks it up from here: “While driving through the area in their semi, the couple stopped at Sidelines Tap in downtown Mayville to watch the Nov. 4 Monday Night Football game.”
Grant, 42, found himself in Dodge County Circuit Court the next day after allegedly making good on the bet. He was charged with possession of an electric weapon during an initial appearance. If convicted, Grant could face up to six years in prison.
No big deal. Just one of those things that young couples in love do, right?
The wife made a call to police, saying that while the two were smoking cigarettes outside of Sidelines, Grant had used the stun gun twice on her butt and once on her thigh. She said that she has burn marks on her hindquarters, although she did not request emergency medical treatment.
In reviewing the woman’s text messages about the bet and a cellphone video, the officer determined that she did make the bet with her husband and that she did consent to having a stun gun being used on her. She told the officers that she didn’t think her husband would actually use the weapon on her.
“Hell yeah it hurt,” she said, according to police, reports the Chicago Tribune.
“It takes not only the Packer and Bear rivalry to a new level, it takes the spousal rivalry (to a new level),” said Mayville Police Chief Christopher MacNeill, according to the Tribune. “There are couples where the wife is a fan of one team and the husband’s a fan of another team, but this raises the bar a little bit and goes to the extreme.”
The report states the wife claims she did not give consent for anyone to use a Taser, but cell phone footage of the incident shows her “laughing and it seemed apparent that Ms. Grant had consented,” the arresting officer wrote in the complaint, says NBC Chicago.
Deadspin reports that Grant’s BAC was .137, while his wife’s was .155.
