It’s almost impossible to find a way to delicately describe what ex-NBA player Gilbert Arenas said about Kevin Love.
First, some background: Love was elbowed in the back of his head in Cleveland’s loss to the Warriors in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. He didn’t play in Game 3 because of concussion-like symptoms, and his status for Game 4 on Friday night isn’t very clear.
Arenas, who’s no stranger to saying something stupid, went on Instagram and said Love should have worn “one of those retard helmets” to play in the game, and that he is as “soft as baby (expletive)” for not playing.
Arenas’ Instagram message has been removed, but The Big Lead has it on their site.
Warriors center Andrew Bogut supports Love – and any other player – who wants to proceed with caution after suffering a head injury.
“There’s probably people calling Kevin Love soft and those people are idiots,” Bogut said, via ESPN. “You don’t mess around with the brain.”
Keep in mind that Arenas, not even all that long ago, said WNBA players are “high self-esteem ugly chicks.”
