Russell Westbrook is the last player on the planet anyone should criticize for taking a game off to rest, but the fact that he’s resting for the first time all season tonight against the Timberwolves is so Minnesota sports.
ESPN’s Tim McMahon reports that Thunder forward Taj Gibson and guard Andre Roberson will also rest tonight.
In his last game, Westbrook broke Oscar Robertson’s 52-year-old record for triple-doubles in a single season with his 42nd.
With Westbrook sitting, the only players in the NBA to play in every game this season are Marcin Gortat of the Wizards, Jeff Teague of the Pacers and Wolves starters Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Gorgui Dieng.
Was 1 of 6 players to have started every game this season. The list is down to: Wiggins, Towns, Dieng, Teague & Gortat. https://t.co/dWjInalmcU
