In case you’re heading up north, will be out of touch for the weekend, are getting off the grid, or genuinely have no interest in keeping up with the Minnesota sports scene when you’re not around a computer, here’s a primer for what you’ll be missing.
MLB FUTURES GAME:
Two of the brightest stars of baseball’s future will be representing the Twins at the MLB All-Star Futures Game Sunday afternoon.
The convenient start time of 1 p.m. (also when the Twins-Yankees series finale gets underway) means you don’t have to watch the big club.
The annual game features the best and brightest in the minors facing off against each other, with teams being divided into U.S. and The World based on country of birth.
The game has produced an absurd amount of top end major league talent.
Miguel Sano, who Baseball America says has the best power in all of the minor leagues, will be there along with number one prospect in the country Byron Buxton, who also received that accolade from Baseball America.
Once again, Buxton and Sano, 1 p.m., ESPN2 or MLB.com.
Wolves in Vegas:

It is, however, a chance to see what some of the Wolves youngsters have, give some other NBA hopefuls a chance to prove themselves, as well as bring back some memories of familiar faces that tormented the Gophers for so many years.
The Wolves will play three preliminary round games beginning tomorrow at 5:30 against the NBA Developmental League selects. Those three games will determine how teams are seeded in the makeshift tournament, culminating with a championship game on July 22.
The Wolves last preliminary game against the Heat is on NBA TV July 16 at 3 p.m.

PROSPECTS AT PEACH JAM:
2014 Apple Valley prep basketball recruit Tyus Jones, ranked #2 in the country by recruiting service Rivals, is playing for his AAU club Howard Pulley in South Carolina this week/weekend.
Jones is joined on Howard Pulley by DeLaSalle forward Reid Travis, ranked 40th nationally by Rivals.
The Peach Jam is widely known as the premier AAU summer tournament in the country, and they’ll be playing through Saturday at the least, with the semifinal and championship games being held Sunday.
Howard Pulley is currently 1-2 on the tournament after wrapping up their morning game about an hour ago, keep up with all the box scores and results here.
LYNX ROAD WARRIORS:
Lindsey Whalen leads Minnesota in to Tulsa for the second of their four game road trip Saturday night.
No word on if Seimone Augustus will be available for the Lynx, she’s missed the last two games with a sprained ankle, Minnesota won both behind Monica Wright, who dropped 22 each contest.
Tipoff at 7 p.m.
