Will a win over the Arizona Cardinals at home propel the Vikings upward in the various power rankings?
Let’s just say Minnesota is in the Top 10 again on most lists, but Green Bay and Chicago are still ahead of the Purple in most big-time polls.
Heading into Thursday’s Week 8 home game against Tampa Bay, here’s how the list-makers see Minnesota in the 1 through 32 rankings:
Up first: FoxSports, which hikes the Vikes up four spots after the win over Arizona. Author Brian Billick wonders just how effective Adrian Peterson might be the rest of the way after a big day Sunday.
The Bleacher Report has the Vikings up four notches as well, and can’t quite believe the Purple are 5-2. As they put it: “Leslie Frazier has done an amazing job with this group.”
CBS Sports has Minnesota up two places from last week, but warns that “they can’t afford many bad games from Christian Ponder.”
SB Nationhas Minnesota up one spot from last week. But it comes grudgingly, as the blog proclaims: “Those wins are not flukes.”
