Jackson McAndrew, one of the top basketball recruits in Minnesota in the 2024 class, has committed to Creighton.
The 6-foot-9 forward helped Wayzata win its second state title in three years in March, having hit one of the biggest shots of the championship game – a 3-pointer in overtime – against Park Center.
McAndrew’s commitment to Creighton means the Gophers will miss out on the top three in-state recruits in the 2024 class, according to the 247Sports’ composite rankings.
- Daniel Freitag, Breck: committed to Wisconsin
- Jackson McAndrew, Wayzata: committed to Creighton
- Jack Robinson, Lakeville North: committed to Wisconsin
Isaac Asuma, a guard from Cherry High School in northern Minnesota, is ranked fourth and is committed to the Gophers.
“Something that really stood out about [Creighton], just the coaching staff. I felt really good relationships with all of them,” McAndrew said in his announcement livestreamed by 247Sports.
“Also the play style, I just feel like it’ll be a perfect fit, the way they play and the way I play. And then the player development piece as well was really big. They develop guys that are like me and gotten them to the league and I think they can really help my game a lot and get me really far.”
