It might have been more fun to celebrate a playoff berth in front of home fans at Xcel Energy Center, but the Wild still enjoyed the moment following a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center on Tuesday night.
The team had a camera in the locker room as the players and coaches celebrated the victory that clinched a playoff seed.

Minnesota has been better on the road than at home of late. Their 11-game road win streak is the longest in franchise history and just one victory shy of tying the 2005-06 Detroit Red Wings for the longest road win streak in NHL history, according to NHL.com.
Those Red Wings blew the league away with 124 points only to lose to Edmonton in the opening round of the playoffs.
NHL.com has the top five reasons the Wild clinched.
- Devan Dubnyk’s outstanding play in goal
- Best penalty kill in the NHL
- Zach Parise’s consistent scoring
- Winning on the road
- Matt Dumba’s emergence
Meanwhile, Minnesota’s other pro and college teams have gone to Twitter to congratulate the Wild.
