The Twins’ No. 1 overall pick in the MLB Draft hit a 400-foot home run to center field in his first at-bat with the Gulf Coast League Twins. He batted second and played shortstop and finished 2-for-4 in his debut.
According Ted Schwerzler, Lewis’ homer traveled 411 feet. The 18-year-old, who just graduated from high school, grounded out to short, lined out to left and singled to center.
