With the 20th pick in the NBA Draft Thursday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves selected Georgia Tech shooting guard Josh Okogie.
The moment he heard NBA Commissioner Adam Silver call his name was caught on camera, with Okogie calling it the “best moment” of his life.

Okogie didn’t attend the draft in New York, instead choosing to stay home in Atlanta with his family, friends and college teammates.
The 19-year-old averaged 18.2 points and 6.3 rebounds as a sophomore at Georgia Tech last season, and he averaged 6.8 attempts at the free throw line.

He is extremely athletic with some experts comparing him to Donovan Mitchell, who turned in one of the best rookie seasons in recent memory with the Utah Jazz last season.
“The versatility and the fact that he plays both sides of the ball. He shot 38 (percent) from three,” head coach Tom Thibodeau told Timberwolves.com. “He has great length, a seven-foot wingspan and he’s done it at a high level, so we think there’s a big upside to him. Great worker, great kid. We’re looking forward to having him.”
