Miguel Sano busted the game wide open on Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals.
With the Twins leading 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Sano stepped up to the plate and was inches from hitting a grand slam, but settled for a bases-clearing triple instead.
Sano, who hit a home run on Opening Day, could have easily had two more dingers on Wednesday. He also flew out to the warning track in the third inning.
It was just the third triple in Sano’s big league career.
Later in the inning, Eduardo Escobar slugged a 3-run homer to left-center field and the Twins took a 9-1 lead.
