Rob Refsnyder has excelled for the Minnesota Twins this season but in the fifth inning of Monday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles, he made the highlight reel for the wrong reasons.
With Ryan Mountcastle at the plate, the Orioles catcher sent a deep drive to center field. Refsnyder tracked the ball all the way to the center field fence but ran out of room to result in a high-speed collision.

While Refsnyder trying to run through the wall is entertaining it’s also unfortunate. Prior to this season, Refsnyder had never played center field but was forced into duty with injuries to Byron Buxton and Max Kepler. Refsnyder has also made several great plays in center which has helped him charge into Twins folklore.

With the way this season has turned out for the Twins, another play for the blooper reel is not a surprise. Hopefully, Refsnyder doesn’t have to play center much longer and Minnesota can field a healthy outfield soon.
