Twins manager Paul Molitor was ejected on Thursday in the Twins’ loss to the Cleveland Indians.
With the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the eighth, Jason Castro checked his swing but the home plate umpire said he went around and didn’t even appeal the call to third base ump.
That’s when Molitor lost it.
You can’t blame him here either, it’s a check swing and the third base umpire has a better view of the bat crossing the plate.
The Twins skipper has been pretty calm throughout his tenure as manager. It’s only the fifth ejection for Molitor since he took over in 2015.
Which is no where near the pace Ron Gardenhire had during his 13 years of managing the Twins. Gardenhire was ejected 73 times from 2002-14.
