The Gopher Road Trip made its round to Park Rapids on Tuesday, and head football coach P.J. Fleck made an offer to one lucky kid: If he could beat Fleck in a wrestling match, the coach would pay for him and a friend to attend wrestling and football camp at the University of Minnesota.
But if Fleck won, fellow men’s basketball head coach Richard Pitino and Fleck would receive a lifetime membership to Blueberry Pines Golf Course, just south of Park Rapids in Menahga, Minnesota.
Fun stuff. ????
Also: Nice belt, @Coach_Fleck! https://t.co/oby1QhnUpF

The young fan prevailed, and he’ll be attending both camps later this summer.
However, the Gopher wrestling team noticed – and told Fleck he needs to work on his mat defense.
We gotta get @Coach_Fleck in the room to work on his mat defense with @BrandonEggum
Nice work running that half for the pin, Finn! https://t.co/48ADTp9XW2

Apparently Fleck’s pants were a little too tight, because they ripped after he lost the match. How embarrassing for such an “elite” football coach.
The kid won. And @Coach_Fleck pants ripped. Seriously. https://t.co/klGssYE07o
