The Los Angeles Chargers, who stole hearts in 2022 by revealing their NFL schedule in anime, is back again with another version – and this time the Vikings and Minnesota sports fans really get it.
The Chargers are due to visit U.S. Bank Stadium in Week 3, so the Vikings feature early on in LA’s hilarious schedule release video.
It first shows U.S. Bank Stadium with birds slamming into the glass windows at its north end – a cruel but brilliant reference to the debate over the team’s decision not to install bird-safe glass when they built the $1.1 billion arena.

It gets better, with an anime version of Kirk “Kirko Chainz” Cousins, sporting tinted specs and shiny bling, appearing inside the stadium.
But the best bit is behind him, the banners hanging from the rafters of the stadium that read:
- Fun game vs. Bills 2022 Week 10
- Timberwolves Play-In Winner 2022
- Mentioned in a Lizzo Song
- Justin Jefferson OROY (Runner Up)
- #1 NFLPA Team

All of them, ALL OF THEM, genius jokes at the expense of Minnesota sports fans who are seeking any kind of win, no matter how small, given the litany of sporting disappointments the state has experienced the past several decades.

There have been a number of top quality schedule release videos this year – we’re a big fan of Chicago’s “The Bear” themed video and the Titans’ Nashville Broadway vox pops – but this one takes some beating.
should we REALLY make our schedule release video an anime AGAIN?
