Target Field was the scene of another heartbreaking loss and the end of the season for the 2023 Minnesota Twins, but the visitor’s clubhouse was the scene of what will go down as one of the great victory speeches ever caught on camera.
Justin Verlander, the 40-year-old ace pitcher of the Astros, grabbed a bottle of champagne and dropped seven curse words, including six F-bombs, in his speech that honored Houston’s seventh consecutive trip to the ALCS. It went like this…
“Alright, s***. Boys, this is one of those seasons nothing went our f****** way early. We battled through injuries. We f****** grinded. I wasn’t even f****** here. I’m happy to back. The seventh f****** time. Seventh f****** time. Alright, don’t take that for granted. On seven, everybody pop these motherf******.”

In the age of analytics, it would only be right if we calculated Verlander’s swear rate. His speech was 50 words and with seven being naughty it goes down as a 14% swear rate.
