However, when an opposing player uses his stick as a harpoon onto another player, that is also called embellishment – as appeared to be the case when Wild forward Marcus Foligno took this slash from Winnipeg Jets star Patrick Laine.

Foligno was furious over the call, and nearly broke the door as he entered the penalty box in frustration.
Can you blame the guy? His leg was hacked by a hockey stick.
Regardless, it appears the referee tried his best.
