Despite the Twins coming out on the wrong end of a 4-3 decision last night, Aaron Hicks continues to impress in the field.
His first important grab was in the bottom of the eighth with the game tied at three, sending leadoff hitter Wil Myers back to the dugout and quashing what could’ve started a late game rally.
His second was in an even bigger spot, a catch up against the wall in the bottom of the 10th on a frozen rope to center field by Kelly Johnson, who had already homered once in the game. Myers was on first at the time and if Hicks would not have made the catch, he most likely would’ve come around to score.
He’s stacking up quite the impressive array of highlight catches this year, and his second of last night’s game makes us harken back to one of his best in the 2013 campaign. Does his catch last night measure up?
Unfortunately Hicks, like six other Twins, struck out multiple times last night and Gardy’s club couldn’t get the big hit when they needed it.
