Danilo Galinari’s wild bank shot with 27 seconds to play proved to be the game-winner as the Nuggets beat the Wolves 105-103 Wednesday night. But the next 20 seconds were awesome.
Andrew Wiggins blew by Wilson Chandler and went up for the tying layup only to have Chandler make one of the best defensive plays of the season by swatting the ball from behind off the backboard. It was kind of similar to LeBron James’ huge block on Steph Curry late in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
“I got lucky,” Chandler said, according to ESPN. “When he turned the corner, he had a little edge on me. I just jumped up. I thought he was going to dunk it but I was going for the block regardless.”
Zach LaVine got one last shot from deep to win the game but it clanked off the front iron.
