Smoke from Canadian wildfires drifting over Minnesota caused a problem for the Milwaukee Brewers as second baseman Owen Miller and right fielder Brian Anderson couldn’t keep track of a towering pop-up by Joey Gallo and the ball fell for a hit.
It happened with two outs in the third inning when Gallo lifted the high fly ball to shallow right field. In the video highlight, Miller appeared to signal that he was having a hard time following the ball as it lifted into the hazy sky before falling safely to the grass for an RBI double and a 4-2 Twins lead.

The game is being played amid an air quality alert in the Twin Cities and throughout much of Minnesota, which is the result of wildfire smoke from Canada blowing from north to south across the state.
The air quality index, which measures how healthy outdoor air is at a given time, was estimated to be around 150 in Minneapolis at the time of the pop fly.
According to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, anything over 101 represents air that can be harmful to people who are sensitive to air pollution, though the air quality in the Twin Cities during the Twins-Brewers game was just flat out unhealthy for all people.
