Brett Favre is in a Super Bowl commercial, and it has nothing to do with football or Wranglers.
It’s for Wix.com and it shows Favre kicking his feet up on a desk, asking actor Rex Lee, better known as Lloyd from “Entourage,” what he’s going to do with his life now that he’s out of football. Favre hasn’t played since his career ended with the Vikings in 2010, but he’s been known to waffle with his decisions in the past.
The commercial is actually less about waffles and more about meats and cheese. We’ll get to that in a moment.
Anyway, Lee tells Favre to create a website using Wix.com.
Then the advertisement shows former NFL stars Terrell Owens, Emmitt Smith, Larry Allen and Franco Harris using their own websites to launch successful businesses.
Owens, known for having an all-pro ego, is the host of a show called “Humble Pie.”Harris, know for the “Immaculate Reception,” turns his famous play into a wedding reception business called “Immaculate Reception.” Smith, who wore No. 22 for the Dallas Cowboys, runs a bar called “Double Deuces.” Allen, a former Cowboys offensive lineman, operates a towing company called “All-Pro Tow.” Allen, for the record, is the tow truck.
As it turns out, the advertisement serves as a great promotion for Favre’s new company, “Favre & Carve.” It’s slogan is “Charcuterie for Cheeseheads” and its website was created by Wix. Favre’s meat and cheese store has locations in Wisconsin, Mississippi and Louisiana.
There’s also a “Say Charcuterie Challenge” for a chance to win prizes from Favre. Check out the contest right here.
