The Gophers softball team ended its season with a 5-3 loss to the Washington Huskies on Sunday night.
Washington, ranked fifth in the country, won 5-3 to advance out of the Seattle regional of the NCAA Tournament and into the Super Regional, where they’ll face Alabama in a best-of-three series next week.
Minnesota ends the season with a 41-17 record and the bragging rights of winning the Big Ten Tournament for a third consecutive season. They finished second to Michigan in the Big Ten during the regular season.

The Gophers were upset by Texas in the opening game of the double elimination regional on Friday and then bounced back with wins over Boise State and Texas on Saturday.
Were they to advance to the Super Regional, they would’ve needed two wins over Washington.
