The Minnesota Twins couldn’t get much of anything going offensively Friday night and they fell to the Seattle Mariners 6-1 at Target Field.
Taijuan Walker (8-7) held the Twins to one run on one hit as he picked up the complete game victory, while striking out 11. Walker held the Twins hitless through the first three innings, recording strikeouts on six of the first nine outs.
Tajuan Walker had an 8.02 ERA over his last four starts, but has held the Twins to just one hit through eight innings. Down 4-1.

While Walker was shutting down the Twins, the Mariners got him a little run support. Seattle scored one in the second inning when Brad Miller’s sacrifice fly scored Mark Trumbo to give them a 1-0 lead.
It stayed that way until the top of the fourth, when Trumbo and Austin Jackson led off the inning with back-to-back hits. Both came around to score to push the lead to 3-0.
Twins starter Tommy Milone (5-3) didn’t have nearly the success that Walker did. He gave up four runs on 11 hits in six plus innings.
Miguel Sano was really the lone bright spot for the Twins. He showed some of his potential, picking up the team’s only hit with a solo home run and flashing some leather while filling in at third base.
Miguel Sano has the most walks and fourth-most extra-base hits through 22 career games in Twins history. And also he's batting .301.

Nelson Cruz led the Mariners at the plate. He was 4-for-5 with a home run and a double. Jesus Montero also homered for Seattle and finished 2-for-4 with a double. Jackson and Trumbo also had two hits each. The Mariners finished with a total of 13 of them on the night.
