Further clarity on the decision to put Adrian Peterson on an NFL exempt list until his felony child abuse charges are resolved could come at 11 a.m. Wednesday when the Vikings hold a press conference to address the decision that was reached in the middle of the night.
Team owners Zygi and Mark Wilf, along with General Manager Rick Spielman, Legal Affairs and Chief Administrative Officer Kevin Warren and Head Coach Mike Zimmer will all be at the press conference to address questions from the media.

The Wilfs have been harshly criticized after they made the decision to reinstate Peterson on Monday, following his brief suspension. The press conference will mark the first time the Wilfs will have spoken publicly about the situation, other than a pair of written statements.
On Monday, Spielman was sent to the podium to address the decision to put Peterson back on the field – a decision Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk called ridiculous.
“Sending poor General Manager Rick Spielman out to take the bullets for the ridiculous decision to let Peterson come back after a weekend off was dishonorable,” Gantt wrote. “So was changing their mind in the middle of the night, as if no one would notice.”
