Laquon Treadwell still isn’t 100 percent healthy after injuring his hamstring in a padless practice at training camp July 31.
“I’m not fully back yet but I was able to get a few reps in; that’s always good,” Treadwell said Tuesday after getting some time with the first-team offense, per the Pioneer Press.
At 6’2”, 210 pounds, Treadwell is the red-zone threat the Vikings have lacked at the wide receiver position, but his inability to stay on the field hasn’t allowed the Vikings to maximize his potential.

Injuries were partially to blame for his one-catch rookie season in 2016, but Treadwell told Vikings.com that he wasn’t working like a true professional.
“Last year, I mean I was good enough, but when it was time for me to win at certain points in my routes, I didn’t have the formula,” Treadwell said. “I was watching (Stefon) Diggs and (Adam) Thielen, and they were very technically sound, and that’s how they beat guys consistently. They know how to win, and that was my biggest thing. I knew I could win. I just didn’t know how. I learned over the offseason and spent a lot of time learning how to be a true receiver instead of just relying on God-given talent and ability.”
Bottom line: The Vikings really need Treadwell to step up.
After Diggs and Thielen there’s questionable depth until Michael Floyd returns from suspension in Week 5. With Floyd out, the No. 3 receiver job is up for grabs between Treadwell, Jarius Wright, Rodney Adams and Stacey Coley.
