Stefon Diggs will miss his first game of the season as the Vikings have ruled him out for today’s noon kickoff against the visiting Detroit Lions.
Diggs suffered a ribs injury in last week’s loss to the Saints. Replacing him in the starting lineup is third-year receiver Laquon Treadwell, and it’ll also mean more playing time for Aldrick Robinson and Brandon Zylstra.
Chad Beebe was signed off the practice squad on Saturday to add depth to Minnesota’s receiving corp.
Linebacker Anthony Barr (hamstring) will miss his second consecutive game, as will left guard Tom Compton (knee) and safety Andrew Sendejo (groin).
Eric Wilson replaces Barr while Compton and Sendejo will be replaced by Danny Isidora and Anthony Harris, respectively.
The good news is that the Vikings get cornerback Xavier Rhodes back from an ankle injury that forced him to miss last week’s game.
