With the regular season less than two weeks away, the last thing the Minnesota Vikings need is another injury to an offensive player. Unfortunately, that’s what they might be dealing with.
According to reports, wide receiver Adam Thielen limped off the practice field in Eagan on Tuesday morning with an apparent injury to his left ankle. The severity of the injury is unknown, although ESPN’s Courtney Cronin provided a glimmer of hope by saying Thielen was able to walk off without assistance.
To clarify, Thielen walked off under his own power when he left practice. Dinged up, IMO, signifies nothing glaringly serious, which is why I phrased it that way. But to quell the inevitable Twitter freakout…

Thielen led the Vikings with 91 receptions for 1,276 yard and four touchdowns last season, and he has yet to miss a game in his four years in the NFL.
Kendall Wright took Thielen’s place on the first-team offense once Thielen went down.
Kendall Wright stepped in for Thielen when he exited practice. Big opportunity for him in Thursday’s game to show why he should get one of those final receiver spots.
